House Groenewald

In eget sapien vitae massa rhoncus lacinia. Nullam at leo nec metus aliquam semper.

The residence is designed in a traditional H-plan configuration with a courtyard facing the street. Low walls demarcate and articulate the boundaries between the public and private space. The wings are connected with a central living space opening up onto a covered stoep.

The living areas open up into the garden with double doors. The kitchen is placed in a pivotal position to service and maintain visual connection with the living and dining areas. A separate private living area on the first floor maintains contact with the ground floor activities by the introduction of a double volume space.

The gable ends on the Northern facade are articulated with rectangular boxes creating better cover against the elements and to reduce the scale of the gable ends.
