House Marais

In eget sapien vitae massa rhoncus lacinia. Nullam at leo nec metus aliquam semper.

The residence is located in Struisbaai, close the the southermost tip of Africa.

The house is designed to serve as a holiday house with the opportunity to sublet it for rental purposes. The entrance foyer leads to a circular stairwell which both connects and creates the divide between the two levels. This allows for the house to be split into two sections which can be used independently from each other.

The first floor living area and bedrooms open up on to covered balconies with views towards the ocean. The living areas can open up to two sides to allow for flexibility to suit the changing seasonal weather conditions. A central atrium enclosed by a walkway shield the outside living area from prevailing winds.

Corner windows are introduced to frame the view and dilute the boundary from the interior to the outside.
